Every bridal shower deserves a special theme, and what better way to enhance the celebration than by creating a tasty drink to match? For our latest bridal shower party theme, On Cloud 9, we wanted to make the bride-to-be feel like she's floating on air. That's why we've come up with a simple yet delicious cotton candy champagne cocktail that's sure to leave a lasting impression!
Ingredients
So, let’s start with the things you'll need to make this oh-so-dreamy drink:
-
A bottle of your favorite Champagne or Prosecco
-
Cotton Candy (any flavor/ color you prefer)
-
Edible glitter or colored sugar (optional)
-
Cocktail glasses
Step 1: Prepare the Glasses
Rim the champagne glasses with a bit of water or honey. Then dip them into edible glitter or colored sugar for an extra pop of color and a festive touch. Set rimmed glasses aside. Pro tip: If you really want to match the theme you can use some custom frost flex cups instead!
Step 2: Make the Cotton Candy Clouds
To create your cloud topper, you'll need to gently gather a good amount of cotton candy and form it into your cloud shape. Don’t press it down; the beauty of this drink comes from the fluffy cotton candy cloud. Place the cotton candy on some custom plates or wax paper, shaping it into little clouds wide enough to rest on the rim of your champagne glasses.
Step 3: Pop the Bubbly
Next, it's time to pour the champagne (AKA our favorite part). Fill the champagne glasses about two-thirds full. Remember, you'll need to leave room for the cotton candy, which adds some volume as it dissolves.
Step 4: Customize Your Cotton Candy Dreams
Once the glasses are filled, gently secure your cotton candy cloud with a custom stir stick. This will ensure that your cloud stays where it needs to, and as a bonus will make your drink look extra cute!
Step 5: Watch the Magic Happen
Now, this is the exciting part! Have your guests watch as you place the cotton candy cloud on top of the glass. The cotton candy will begin to dissolve into the Champagne, creating a whimsical cloud effect that adds a hint of sweetness to your drink.
Tips and Variations:
-
Consider using flavored cotton candy for a unique twist on the drink. Flavors like strawberry, blue raspberry, or even tropical punch can complement the taste of the champagne (and the theme of your event!)
-
If you prefer your drink to be less sweet, you can use a smaller amount of cotton candy.
-
To add even more visual intrigue to the drink, consider using colored champagne flutes that match the cotton candy.
-
For non-alcoholic versions, substitute sparkling water or grape juice for the Champagne.
Cheers!
