It’s not every day that we get to feature a wedding designed by our very own FYP president, Sari! On St. Patrick’s Day, Sari’s son and daughter-in-law, Max and Haylie, got married in Chicago with a gorgeous Garden Party Conservatory themed wedding!

Wedding Inspiration

Drawing inspiration from Chicago’s Lincoln Park Conservatory, located directly across from the wedding venue, Stratford on the Park, the wedding colors and décor combined geometric, industrial elements with the fresh greenery and blossoms of the spring season in Chicago. With vibrant green as an anchoring color, they also cleverly tipped their wedding caps to the fact that the wedding was indeed on St. Patrick’s Day.

Personalized Wedding Accessories

Sari worked with FYP designers Lauren Beeks and Dianna McNicoll to design personalized wedding accessories that delivered the theme in a major way! The custom wedding accessories included a variety of personalized wedding napkins: adorable petite linen like cocktail napkins for the champagne toast, several colors of cocktail napkins and dinner napkins, custom guests towels and a full color Alice in Wonderland napkin to match the themed wedding cake. The effect was fantastic! Everywhere guests turned, they found perfectly personalized accessories for every aspect of the wedding.

The wedding bar featured green custom designed wedding matches designed with special meaning: one side of the match boxes was foil stamped with Max and Haylie’s names, and the other side was foil stamped with the quote, “Hey, you. Can I borrow a light?” This simple question is the first words exchanged between Max and Haylie, at a concert years ago. We love how they included this sentimental detail on their personalized wedding matches.

Food and Drinks

In another nod to the Irish, the brunch menu included a salmon pastrami sandwich, a pescatarian alternative to a traditional St. Patrick’s Day fare of corned beef and hash sandwich. Signature cocktails, champagne and “green river floats” were passed along with delicious hors d'oeuvres.

Sweets and Wedding Favors

For sweets, an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding cake, complete with a green top hat as the top layer awaited cutting, and an extravagant donut wall featuring Stan’s Donuts served as a fabulous décor focal point and offered delicious wedding favors! Guests were provided with personalized treat bags with a design that said “Thanks a HOLE lot” to take a tasty donut with them as they left the wedding.
